AOE II combines a great multiplayer game with the fun of a single player. It allows for several different types of victory. If war is your style then you can go out and conquer your oppenents. Destroy them and claim their land. Or you can accumlate large amounts of gold and build a wonder of the world. Hold onto it for a certain period of time and victory can be yours without bloodshed. Enjoy yourself playing over the net or our lan server against friends. Or you can play cooperative with them to destroy others.

A nicely fortified town sits awaiting for the arrival of friends and foes. Peasents are working around the town farming and building homes and military structures. The military is supervising the tasks and watching for the enemy.

A large fortified castle sits silent watching the armies of the enemies approaching. Waiting for the correct time for massive amounts of arrows to fly out and the army to charge out of the gates to destroy the foolish people who thought they could challenge this castles with such minimal forces.

A castle protects the shipyard on the coast of the island. A fleet of ships is slowly being amassed to travel to the nearby mainland and surprise the enemy who rests easy thinking they are safe.
